Big Weekend is an event that has been around for many years but for the last 3 years it has become an event for the community of Edmond. We have several churches coming together from all over the Edmond area. The point of the weekend is to make a Big Impact on the community by many churches gathering with one purpose.
One huge way we get to accomplish this goal is on Saturday afternoon when all of the students and their leaders work together to complete literally hundreds of projects all over the city. The projects could be helping with food pantries, picking up trash, painting fire hydrants, or sending care boxes to troops that are overseas. It truly has been amazing to see how much these teenagers can accomplish when they work together.
This year we will also spend a large part of our time praying for each school campus in our area- that God would begin to move among our classmates and teachers. This will also be a big part of the teaching time in our worship services. Reminding us that we are not alone in our hallways but that there are other believers there with us and we need to make an impact together. A student's season in middle school or high school is short so we hope this weekend will motivate them to take advantage of the time they have to glorify Christ in their halls.
So we hope you will come and help make this weekend more than just a hangout but a time where students begin to step out in faith serving their community for the cause of Christ!
